Linda Brown
Linda Brown was denied admission to her neighborhood school in Topeka, Kansas because of her race and was told to attend an all black school across town. With the help of the NAACP her parents were able to sue the school board and later won.
Thurgood Marshall
Thurgood Marshall was a brilliant African American attorney. He focused his efforts on ending segregation in public schools. He was also the cheif council and director of legal defense and education in the NAACP.
Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. had a PhD in theology. He was the first president of the SCLC and took part in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. He believed in the ways of Ghandi and promoted nonviolent peaceful protests.
